Joan Zaslow has over 20 years of experience in the art world. After beginning her professional career as an attorney, in 1993 Zaslow realized that her true passion is sculpting. She studies at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts perfecting her technique, which is ever evolving. Many of her sculptures are cast into bronze. This creates a beautiful metallic effect on the sculptures. Others are fired and then hand painted to a lovely patina to create a layered and weathered effect. Each hand patinated image is unique

When Zaslow sculpts, she uses live models as subjects. Her goal is to perfectly capture the human form and the emotions being portrayed.
