Russell Case
Emerging artist Russell Case was born in Detroit in 1975, but spent his youth in New Orleans. After completing a BFA at the Art Institute in Chicago, Russell spent a year traveling Asia and circumnavigating the globe by train. Two years later he started post-graduate studies again in Chicago and did a residency at the Terra Museum of American Art in Giverny, France. That summer he saw the Morandi exhibition at the Tate Modern, a pivotal event in his life as an artist. Russell then completed an MFA with Lennart Anderson at Brooklyn College, New York. Lennart is a Morandi enthusiast and gave Russell an insight to edges, halftones, and the special metaphysical quality of the still life. In 2003, while practicing Yoga in India, he met his wife Sally Evans. They live together in Brighton, UK. Currently he is showing at the Royal Academy Exhibition in London as well as the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. 3/10/08 Dear Friends, I humbly invite you to an upcoming exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
