Angelo Basso
Angelo Basso 1943-2011 Known as the master of the Baroque revival,Italian sculptor Angelo Basso was one of the most noted figurative sculptors in both his native country and the United States. Basso employed the many basic characteristics of traditional Baroque to add grace and flowing movement to the contemporary sculpture he produced. His technical mastery and knowledge of human anatomy is evident in his idealization of the female figure. A self-taught artist, Basso exhibited internationally and has work in the Vatican Museum.
