As a fashion designer, Erte was famous for creating his designs through graphics. With sculpting, he saw a means of liberating himself from the inherent restrictions of the two-dimensional page so that he could work on his designs in three dimensions. His preferred sculpting medium was bronze, and his works are well-known for their ornate, elegant designs.
