Donald Sultan
Donald Sultan’s work has been exhibited throughout the world. Sultan is the recipient of major grants from Creative Artists Public Service, The Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Fun, and The National Endowment for the Arts. A Graduate of the University of North Carolina, Sultan received his M.F.A. at the Chicago Art Institute. His work has been included in prestigious international public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum. Already considered a living master of the print medium, Sultan is often grouped with such artists as Johns, Katz, and Stella, and is considered one of America’s most important painter/printmakers. In 1988, Sultan’s prints were given a one-man exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art. His Print Retrospective, organized by Barry Walker, toured American museums from 1992 – 1994.
